Concerns for the New York Yankees?

Even though it is early June, in the Bronx it feels like October. You have the National League favorite to
make the world series, the Los Angeles Dodgers facing off against the best team in the American League, the New
York Yankees.

Going into this series the Yankees are without Juan Soto due to inflammation in his left arm. For the
Dodgers they had Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound, someone who the Yankees wanted to sign in the offseason
but now are having to prepare for. Yamamoto definitely shines bright in the big lights going seven innings pitched
only giving up two hits and striking out seven. For the Yankees they had Cody Poteet who is up for the injured
Clarke Schmidt. Poteet went four and two thirds with only giving up two hits and striking out one. This was an old
fashion pitching duel until the eleventh inning where Teoscar Hernandez hits a two run double that lifts the Dodgers
over the Yankees 2-1.

In the second game of the series the Dodgers bashed their way to a series victory beating the Yankees 11-3
with Hernandez hitting two home runs including a grand slam which put a dagger in the game. Aaron Judge had
two home runs in this game extending his league leading to twenty three home runs. Nestor Cortes went five and
one third innings pitched, giving up seven hits, four earned runs, four strikeouts, and one walk. For the Dodgers
they had Gavin Stone pitching who went five and two thirds inning pitched, giving up eight hits, allowing two
earned runs, six strikeouts and two walks.

The Dodgers went into game three looking to be the first team to sweep this season, they had Tyler
Glasnow on bump who went six inning pitch giving up eight hits, five earned runs, one walk and striking out twelve
batters. For the Yankees they had their best pitcher this season in Luis Gil going for them to avoid the sweep. Gil
went five and two thirds inning pitch giving up five hits, three earned runs, one walk and striking out five. The
Yankees bats came alive as Trent Gisham hit the go ahead, three home run home run, Aaron Judge and Oswaldo
Cabrera also went deep as the Yankees won 6-4 over the Dodgers.

This is only the third series the Yankees have lost this season (Baltimore & Toronto). Now losing only three
series is great but in all three of these series the Yankees faced great pitching which shut down the Yankees high
powered offense. This is the type of pitching you will see in October. Considering that the Yankees are all in for
their twenty eighth championship this year, should this be a cause of concern?

  1. Yankees need to bring up the Martian. Put Judge at first base where he worked out during Spring Training. Rizzo who I like needs to go. The Martian is a monster at the plate and is a good outfielder.
